About SLPMCS

Sri Lanka Port Management and Consultancy Services (Private) Limited is a government-owned limited liability Company incorporated and domiciled in Sri Lanka with the participation and contribution of key players in the Port and Shipping Industry of Sri Lanka.

The Company was established in 1982 under the patronage of the Honorable Minister of Trade & Shipping, Mr. Lalith Athulathmudali with the intention of providing any Port related supportive service in the Port of Colombo to enable Sri Lanka Ports Authority to focus on its main business.

Our Objectives

To undertake the administration of Ports outside the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

To control and regulate port traffic and operations

To undertake cargo handling

To organize, establish and operate employment bureaus and employment agencies in the Republic of Sri Lanka

To recruit shipping crews and other shipping personnel

To erect, construct, lay down, enlarge alter and maintain any wharf, pier, jetty, dockyards, shops, stores, factories, buildings, roads, sidings, bridges, offices, showrooms, and other works, plant, machinery

To carry on the business, of Agents for the Insurance Corporation of Sri Lanka, the Sri Lanka Petroleum Corporation, and Advertising Agents for the Sri Lanka Ports Authority

To collaborate with foreign capital investment, either through a person or body corporate or otherwise, within the limits of the policy of the Government of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka

To train or cause to be trained at the cost and expense of the Company
